Studying...
art and design in my hometown of Bournemouth England,
a part of the course was watercolour, a medium which
ended up becoming a lifelong passion. -
Leaving England...
I travelled to Munich in beautiful Bavaria. The lifestyle,
countryside, mountains, lakes and people have since
become a great source of inspiration for my watercolours
and sketches -
A lifelong romance…
with the medium watercolour,
with the knowledge that you will never truly master it.
It can turn around and humble even the best,
It seems the harder you try the more it goes wrong.
I think a large part of watercolour painting is that
they should almost paint themselves. -
I always have my paints...
or sketch book with me, and enjoy painting on location.
It is by far the most difficult but also the most satisfying. -
A great combination...
hiking with the dog in the mountains,
and finding a quite place to sketch and paint.
Any day when I have painted is always a good day -
It feels so special on location...
in France where the summer light never seems to fade
and everywhere you look there is a motive
just waiting to be painted. Magical -
Don´t know...
how but she sits quietly for hours, and just seems to know,
instinctively, when the painting is finished and it´s time to go.
